About 100 members of a Baptist church got a check from the biotech giant, an organizer of the protest said. Scientists say they've found a way to genetically alter young hogs so they grow much faster and larger than normal swine, as reported nationally this week. Less noticed was a report about a new hog-production system that promises tastier pork, less damage to the environment and the potential for greater profits among independent farmers. That system would eschew modern factory farms. =========== To Unsubscribe: Email majordomo@ces.ncsu.edu with the command "unsubscribe sanet-mg".
