Thanks for your observations, they proved helpful. It seems that the
passage will lend itself to three separate messages in order to
explore it thoroughly enough.
"Thunder Swamp" is not the name of a town, but the name of the road
on which the church I pastor is located. We are in the MT Olive area
of NC, the place from which the pickles come.
We were in fact quite badly pushed around by the recent storm and in
some senses we are still trying to recover. Several of my church folks were
hit particularly severely.
I have enjoyed the communications. Hope we can keep it up from time
to time. This has proven to be a very stimulating way for me to
renew some rusty skills.
