An interesting point if nothing else: The text of Matthew does not say
that the Magi followed the star to Jerusalem-they saw the "star" in the
east-whatever that may mean-read it as pertaining to a new King in Israel,
came to Jerusalem, left Herod, saw the star again and followed it. It is
a minor textual point, but an interesting one.
