Hello, all.
I have a problem: I'm working through a secular text, looking at how the
terms hISTORIA and BIOS are used. I'm specifically trying to determine if
they are used self-referentially (i.e., if the author of the work referred
to the work itself as a hISTORIA or a BIOS). How would I determine this?
I've been looking for summary statements--something along the lines of,
"what follows is the life (BIOS) of Speusippus," or (conversely) "what
follows is the history (hISTORIA) of the Academy." I haven't found anything
resembling either, and don't know what else to look for. Any suggestions?
