What a useful thread!
If the text is food, then the AGRAMMATOS can only eat what others cook. But
the person who understands the languages can prepare his own food. By this
analogy, we have chefs, cooks and takeaway jocks on this list [and I am most
definitely the latter!]

I think a chef or even the person who prepares the food at McDonalds, has a
greater appreciation of the ingredients of the food than those who have all
their food prepared by others.
