Dear Eric,
     Thank you for the informative article. I do not believe that tithing
is a legalistic requirement for the NT believer; it is OT legislation for
the old covenant economy. Paul puts giving on a voluntary basis.
Nonetheless, Paul speaks much about giving. Spirit-indwelt believers must
realize that it costs money to get the Gospel out to the world and to show
a Christlike love to those in need. Many of such costs go beyond
maintenance of church facilities and ministers' salaries. The OT
requirements certainly have an exemplary value for Christians.
