Here are the two definitions given in the "middle" L & S:
PATRIS
[I] of one's fathers, one's fatherland, country, Hom.
[II] as Subst., like patra, Il., attic
with the cross-reference to "patria" being:
Il.: then, like patria II, a house, clan, Lat. gens, Pind.
