Pat Garrity finished off a solid 4-year career as a consensus 2nd Team All-American, finishing as the nation's #6 scorer overall. He was able to do this despite obviously being a marked man by the opposition. Good inside game with a nice outside jumper that has some comparing him to a less-athletic Tom Gugliotta coming out of college. Again, not the most athletic guy in the world, but got the job done inside at Notre Dame. Question will be whether or not he will be able to get his shot off against the bigger bodies in the pros than in the Big East. Some feel that he will end up playing mostly on the perimeter (read shoot open jump shots ala Joe Kleine/Jon Koncak) shooting from mid-range. May be overmatched defensively and needs to work on his handle. Should be decent at PF however, and seems to have the smarts to find out how he will score at the next level. Projected as a mid 1st round pick, even lottery by some. |

Garrity is probably the best forward in the college game. I too question his ability to play power forward. I think that he will have a long career as a small forward due to his ability to score from the outside. Plus if he is matched up against the small forward can take short players inside and score. Should be an excellent first round pick for a team thin at the forward position. |
