Bottom line is: This guy can flat out score. He is extremely athletic. His shooting is questionable. He showed he didn't have the greatest of range, and his selection of shots could be better. He can play in the NBA right now, at the 2. Larry becoming a point guard will take some maturity and experience, but in 1 to 2 years, I can see him being an effective point guard. He needs to work on his shooting, and cut down on turnovers. I see him going anywhere from 6-12.

Larry Hughes is definitely one of the top guard prospects in this draft. While it would have been beneficial for him to have stayed in college at least one more year for development, he still will be a top pick in this draft. I personally watched this guy score 40 points against Marquette in the Bradley Center. Two things must be considered here: 1) this was a Marquette team known for solid defense, and 2) Hughes' teammates were not great college players. Hughes many times was able to overcome double teams and Saint Louis won the game. The question mark on Hughes is his range. While this might be a concern right now, keep in mind that this guy has only one year of college ball under his belt. He can surely improve his range as time goes on. Gary Payton once had questionable range. Hughes is no Payton, but he should be a very solid player in this league for many years. I see him being selected around #7.
