Scouting Report: James Donaldson [jdonalds@direct.ca]
Skinner is a bit of an enigma. He has the physical tools to play the 4 in the NBA, and has essentially been the focus of double and triple teams most of his college career at Baylor and still been able to put up nearly 20 points and 10 rebounds per game. The knock on him seems to be that he tends to disappear in big games (ie he doesn't "step up". His free throw shooting is also very poor, but he is an excellent rebounder, defender, and shot-blocker. Limited range on his shot; most of his points were in the paint. His coach lauds his work ethic, which is always a plus, and his attitude is very good. Once projected to be a top 10 pick, he's slipped to the bottom half of the first round, and he could go anywhere from 15th to 25th. Could be a real steal if he falls that far, as good defensive players in the low post out of college are a rarity.

He's athletic. He can run the court and block shots. He needs to work on his offense a little bit, he needs to get stronger and he needs to play better post defense. Right now, he is not much of a shooter past about 10 feet. He needs to work on that if he's going to be a power forward.
