Scouting reports

Scout: JazzyJ

Cummings has kind of been forgotten a bit this year as he fought through some injuries and Pittsburgh had a very disappointing year. However, scouts are well aware of him and he is thought of very highly in NBA circles. In fact, there was talk that if Cummings had come out for the draft last year, he would have been a 1st round pick. But unfortunately, the Panthers season cast a cloud over Cummings.

Cummings is a solid all-around guard who can play both guard positions, but projects as a point guard in the pros. Very durable -- averaged over 40 minute a game as a junior, and even with all the injuries, still put in 35+ minutes a game as a senior. Good floor leader, although he needs to work on cutting down on the turnovers. Can hit the outside shot, but needs work on his consistency from there, as well as from the free throw line. Good defensively. Came up very big early on this past season, especially in the Puerto Rico Shootout in a big win over Kentucky that put Pitt back in the national ratings. Has been the forgotten man, but could still be a 1st round pick to a team looking for guard depth.
