Scouting reports

Scout: Jeffrey Burgoyne [burgoyne@ultimate-sports.com]

Dion Glover could throw fits into any NBA GM's decision. The guy looked great in his freshman year against tough competition plus he has size and the right attitude for SG at the NBA level. Given that he missed the entire year with a serious knee injury, and has a suspect outside shot, its hard to waste a lottery pick on him, yet he has a bigger upside than many of the players who will taken in the lottery.

I expect Glover (who I do not believe has hired an agent) to return to college for another year. He'd be best off proving he's recovered and working on his outside shot, and I believe the scouts will tell him so. While he may go in the lottery this year, a year to prove he's physically sound could make him a top 5 pick if he makes decent progression.

Glover was a solid rebounder and passer as a freshman, and as expected made quite a few mistakes and was inconsistant. He wasn't far behind in consideration as the top freshman SG being surpassed only by Larry Hughes. Glover isn't the shooter Hughes is, but is definitely bigger and well suited to the NBA.
