Scouting reports

Scout: Phil Nation

Jumaine Jones is one of the best athletes in this draft and has a lot of versatility. He has the skills to play either forward, though he will likely play exclusively at small forward in the NBA.

Offensively, Jones can take the ball to the basket, but is more at home shooting off the dribble. He has good range on his shot, but I don't see him being a big three-point shooter in the NBA because of the extra distance. He also runs the floor well and can score in transition. He is a good rebounder and shot-blocker for a small forward, which will keep opposing small forwards from trying to post him up.

His defense needs some improvement, and his shooting tends to be streaky. He also needs to develop more consistency overall in his game.

Jones is a likely late lottery or early post-lottery pick. He probably is not an immediate starter, but his athleticism and offensive skills are good enough for him to be a starter one day.
