Joel is exciting this year's scout with his overall talent. Joel is
an exceptional shot blocker in the Mutumbo mode, which automatically
at least defensively, makes him a player that should be picked in lottery.
What a lot of scouts did not realize about Joel was his agility and
quickness that no one got to see during his brief tenure at Minnesota.
Joel has displayed an ability to run up court, rebound in traffic and
block shots. Tougher than most people think, Joel can automatically step
in to a NBA starting line-up and start, due to his fine passing game. Joel
needs to work on all of his offensive game in order to become the star
most people are predicting him to become.

Joel Pryzbilla is a fine young center and should be picked
anywhere from #5 to #10 in the first round. I had the chance to watch
Pryz in action and found that his play improved dramatically in the two
years he attended Minnesota. In his first year, Joel was eaten alive by
Northwestern's Evan Eschmeyer, but markedly improved over the season. Last
season, Joel was never truly dominated by anyone, and was able to show
himself as an emerging force in the middle.
I do feel that Joel will
take some time to show himself to be a legit NBA center. I have seen
comparisons to Greg Ostertag and Luc Longley, but I think Pryz will be a
much different player than these two. In the long run, if he works hard, he
will be better than them both. His natural ability to block shots and the
ease with which he runs the court (for someone who is 7') are remarkable. I
think he will be picked by a team who can take a slight risk with a pick
(Orlando or Chicago). Three years down the line, he will be a good
investment.
