Additional Information
Secured a first-round spot with his competent play at the point.
Andy Katz - ESPN.com (June 11th)
Though Cook left little doubt his jump shot is more of a blank canvas than a work in progress, he proved again how effective he can be while he learns. He advances the ball with purpose, especially on the run, and he is in complete command of his team's offense.

Strengths:Leader and catalyst for St. John's this past season .... NBA ready body that is strong and slightly stocky but not overly so.... Laser quick first step that he uses to gain penetration to the basket, once there he has no problem finishing with either a lay-up or kicking the ball out to a open teammate .. Quick hands enable him to get easy steals so opposing point guards will need to protect the ball .... Good playmaker who is unselfish and loves to go for the flashy pass to get the crowd excited ... Very confident in his ability feels that he is one of the best points in the country ... Best thing going for Cook is that he is equally proficient in passing whether it's a half court offense or a fast break offense ...

Weakness: Has worked on his long-range jumper but it is far from being consistent .... Turnovers really are a problem but this is a result of his decision making not being mature often these turnovers accrued when Cook tried to rush things ... There have been grumblings in the past about Cook's attitude some have said that he's a pampered crybaby while I don't believe everything I do think it's safe to say that he isn't the most mature kid .... Shot selection is very questionable took some shots during the season that maybe he should have passed on .... Isn't much of a 3-point threat something that will be a must for him to work on ...
