For the uninitiated, Battlefield Band are perhaps the premier Scottish "folk" band, and are celebrating 25 years since they first formed in Glasgow.

Current members are Alan Reid, a founding member, on keyboards and vocals, Alistair Russell on guitar and vocals, John McCusker on fiddle, cittern, accordian, whistle, just to name a few, and Iain MacDonald, the youngest of the famous piping brothers from Glenuig (the others being Dr. Angus, and Allan), on highland pipes, wooden flute, whistles, and bodhran.

Their motto is "Forward with Scotland's Past," and that aptly describes the wonderful music they create. Everything from haunting ballads, jubilant jigs, foot-stomping strathspeys and reels, and many surprises are found during a typical Battlefield Band concert. Do yourself a favor... if they are appearing near you, GO SEE THIS BAND. You will not be sorry! A November appearance here in Battle Creek Michigan drew fans from five states, plus Ontario, Canada, and at the end, everyone was on their feet shouting and cheering, not wanting the night to end. You will not find a nicer, more appreciative bunch of guys anywhere.

Off my soapbox... if any of the above tour stops are a close enough drive for you, then JUST DO IT! (Any questions about the band or their music, feel free to Email me.)
