Please read this FAQ before posting to soc.culture.celtic
The most recent FAQ is available through anonymous ftp from ftp://sunsite.unc.edu/pub/academic/languages/gaelic/Scc
and of course via the WWW on or http://sunsite.unc.edu/gaelic/sccfaq.html
older versions can be found in
ftp://celtic.stanford.edu/pub/misc/SCC.FAQ
or
ftp://rtfm.mit.edu/pub/usenet-by-group/news.answers/celtic-culture
After a few more weeks I'll post the text version of the FAQ to news.answers and then rtfm will no longer be an old version.
This FAQ is a living document, if you have any suggestions or additions that you would consider relevent then please email me at godfrey@iol.ie or godfrey@itc.icl.ie
The FAQ is NOT a political document, the information is offered, with no bias to any of the communities in Northern Ireland or the Republic of Ireland and no bias towards the devolution movements in Wales or Scotland. In fact, this document attempts to present only information about any of the Celtic communities and does not side with any particular side in any political matter. Mind you the way things are going this is less of a problem of late.
Accents in this document are represented by a / or \ after the vowel in question e.g. e/ represents e-fada (=e acute)
The UK phone numbers in this guide will be changing this Easter Sunday, April 16. Replace the initial 0 with 01. i.e. 031 123 4567 will be 0131 123 4567 (or from outside the UK,+[44] 131 123 4567) The new style phone numbers are already in operation.
