I've been eating here for the last 25 years or so. It was better before they tore down the old place and rebuilt to make it "bigger and better", but it's still worth a stop if you're in the area. Good eastern style 'cue with especially good slaw and hush puppies. They have a pig pickin' style buffet on Fri. & Sat. nights with the usual plus Brunswick stew, fried chicken, nanner puddin', etc. They also have a location in Shalotte, NC.
Whiteville is in southeast NC (Columbus county) about 40 miles n.w. of Wilmington. Yes, there really is a Shallotte. It's in Brunswick county (the very south-eastest county in NC). Also, if you're in Whiteville and for some reason not in the mood for barbeque, Ward's Grill in the middle of downtown on the main drag has some of the best greasy hot dogs and hamburgers you'll find anywhere -- all-the-way, of course.
