Appropriate Technology Transfer for Rural Areas (ATTRA) (P.O. Box 3657, Fayetteville, Arkansas 72702; 800/346-9140): A government organization which provides information on low-input, sustainable farming techniques to farmers and non-farmers. Pre fers to receive questions by phone but does accept mail enquiries. Responds by mail 2-4 weeks later and therefore cannot provide overnight answers to urgent questions. Funded by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and managed by the National Center for A ppropriate Technology.
