How We Did It
Workshop Session #1

Families participated in three workshops to connect with each other and to put together their web pages. During the first workshop we did some activities so that families could get to know one another. We had focus groups where parents and kids talked about their experiences with childhood cancer and their current lives. Family members also took turns acting as reporters and interviewees to learn about members of other families. Finally, we ended the session by surfing some on the Internet. Each family took one or two disposable cameras home with them so they could start taking pictures for their pages.

Here are some of our participants
getting to know each other.
See if you can find these kids on their pages!

Some of the parents also spent time
getting to know each other.

Parents and kids alike played
the reporter role and the interviewee role
as they learned more about each other.

More fun on the web!
