Acquired by the War Shipping Administration at Philadelphia and assigned to EASTSEAFRON in 1943, stationed at New York. Commissioned in the USCG 20 July 1943 after conversion. Operated in Long Island Sound area during WWII; from mid-1944 assigned to Groton Traiing Station, New London, Conn., and used for training.
