CGC Marita (WPY-175)

Built at South Bank on Lees, England as a Kil class patrol gunboat, in 1918, Marita was designed for coastal patrol and ASW during WW I. Acquired from the Royal Navy, Marita was commissioned in the Coast Guard on 30 January 1943.

During 1943-44, Marita was assigned to the Armed School Section Base, Little Creek, Va. and used for training. In 1944 she was reassigned to the 8th District, stationed at Gulfport, Miss.

Marita was decommissioned on 13 November 1944, and sold on 3 May 1945.
