Central Alfalfa Improvement Conference


The 1995 CAIC meeting will be held June 18 - 20 at Spearfish, South Dakota, 
hub for the beautiful northern Black Hills.  Below, please find a tentative 
program schedule for the meeting, a registration form, and a title summary 
form.  The title summary form must be returned to me by May 15, 1995 if you 
wish to present a paper.  The registration form and fee ($50) is due June 1, 
1995.  Fees for those that register after June 1 will be $60.  Registration 
includes the Sunday reception, the Monday continental breakfast, Monday 
lunch, refreshment breaks, Monday evening dinner, a place on a tour bus, and 
published proceedings.

The meeting will be held at the Spearfish Holiday Inn.  Please call the 
Spearfish Holiday Inn to make your reservations (605-642-4683).  Room 
charges will be $48 (plus tax) per night for singles and $55 (plus tax) for 
double occupancy.  Make sure to state that you will be attending the Central 
Alfalfa Improvement Conference.

The nearest airport with jet service is at Rapid City, 45 miles southeast of 
Spearfish.  Rapid City is served by Northwest, Delta, and United airlines. 
 A van service will provide transportation from the Rapid City Airport to 
Spearfish, but you will need to call them before arriving to make 
arrangements.  The cost for a round trip between the Rapid City airport and 
the Spearfish Holiday Inn is $35; however, prices are cheaper for groups.

For those that plan to drive, the Holiday Inn is on the east side of 
Spearfish at exit #14 of US Interstate 90.

There are plenty of tourism activities in the Black Hills, so don t hesitate 
to bring families for a vacation.  The telephone number for the Spearfish 
Chamber of Commerce is (605) 642-2626.  Also, the city of Deadwood is 
nearby, convenient for those that wish to visit casinos.  I hope see you
