Re: orchardgrass for the south



I have done a little work with OG at the Sand Mountain Substation, 
Crossville, Alabama.  There is about a 30% yield penalty compared to Tall 
Fescue.  Volunteer OG can be found as far south as Brewton and it shows 
up quite regularly in TF pastures in the Black Belt.  We are now working 
at a selection program of OG within a TF sward.  WE almost always have a 
good deal of OG in TF pastures in the northern part of the state.  If you 
need to know anything else just ask.
