Thank you for the fast responses on purple coneflower!  The British  
Columbia Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food has a fact  
sheet on Echinacea (purple coneflower) and several individuals (A.L.  
Oliver, John Price, Andrea Gunner, and Tom Li) have assembled an  
information packet including a bibliography, economic information  
and potential sale sources.

There is also a 1994 Journal article by Feghahati and Reese in J.  
Amer. Soc. Hort. Sci. (119:853-858) on germination of E.  
angustifolia.
