Wrapping Bales

A producer here would like to try this and wanted to know if anyone
has any experience doing it:

Square bale (75lb) alfalfa/timothy hay at 12-15% moisture then
immediately bunch it into a block of ? bales and wrap it one way
leaving two ends open. The blocks would then be stored under cover.

The goal is easier mechanized handling of square bales (ie spear
and move the whole block) as well as reducing weathering on the
outside of bales. The is hay not balage.

Questions are:
-will wrapping it right away cause problems?
-what would be the maximum moisture content that he could get away
with?
-will the wrapping allow moving of the bales by spearing?
-has anyone ever done this before??
