Imperial Tx was named after the 'imperial valley' in california -- back
in the l920's, it used to be a wonderful ittle farming community --
then, the oil boom took over!
BUT, hope springs eternal (or at least twice a year here). I bought 4
acres and an old, 8.5 room ranch house (part built back in the l920's)
with outbuildings for around $2,000.00. NO, virginia, there are NOT any
more 'steals' like this one, but there is a 4 bdrom house and 5 acres
which will go on the auction block for taxes, less than $500.00 in the
next 12 months
i'd encourage anyone interested in getting their OWN piece of dirt (a
friend bought 3 lots for $l00 each and an old mobile for $500 last year)
to consider Imperial --
AND, i'd love to have 2-3 mobiles set up at the far end of my place and
start a small, self-sufficient, intentional community HERE!
