I checked out the Web URL to see if I could find the "lineage" of origin for
this community. Lineage is a crucial aspect of social change that becomes
visible when you approach it from an evolutionary perspective. Since ideas like
creating a sustainable community are not being promulgated by mass media, they
survive in social spaces that have been able to maintain their own cultural
transmission and development. So guess who these folks are? Alumni of my old
Stanford Co-op, Synergy House. Way to go! Gives me some "school pride" to see
Synergy continuing to spin off wonderful enterprises as it enters its second
quarter century.
