One excellent, but aged source is the CRC Handbook on Energy Use in 
Agriculture - extensive tables on energy fractionation among 
processes and products, with interesting comparisons for the same 
crop grown in different ways, or in different regions of the US.  
Edited, if I recall, by D. Pimentel.  Might give Pimentel a shout, as 
it strikes me as the type of question he has kept his hands on in 
recent years.  He co-authored one recent book chapter on energy use 
in agriculture, but I believe it was in the aggregate, rather than 
breaking it down by crop and process.  Ann
