Dear Molly,

Another book you may want to examine is *Farming in Nature's Image:
An Ecological Approach to Agriculture* by Judith D. Soule and Jon
K. Piper. 1992, Island Press. This book packs a lot of ecological
information in with a critical analysis of conventional ag and
discussion of sustainable alternatives. The Land Institute's idea
of a perennial prairie model for ag is thoroughly examined. Lots on
soils, too.
