Someone asked for the Larson and Pierce citation that I mentioned which had
the properties of soil and a definition of soil quality. Here it is:

Larson, W.E. and F.J. Pierce. 1991. Conservation and enhancement of soil
quality. In Evaluation for Sustainable Land Management in the Developing
World. Vol. 2. IBSRAM Proc. 12(2). Int. Board for Soil Res. and
Management, Bangkok, Thailand.  

I don't have a copy but have seen it cited. Sounds kind of hard to find...
