Subject: New IPM Web Site

Over the past several months, Tony Shelton and Alfredo Rueda have developed
a prototype of an electronic publication for the World Wide Web entitled

"Global Crop Pest Identification and Information Services in Integrated
Pest Management (IPM)."

The objective of this project is to provide information about pest
identification, biology, ecology and IPM control tactics via the internet
to extensionists of third world countries. The prototype is located on the
WWW at the following URL for your exploration:

http://www.nysaes.cornell.edu/ent/hortcrops

One of the biggest advantages of this project is that it can be tailored to
meet specific users' needs and can be easily modified as addition
information becomes available. It can also be tailored for the language
and pest and control tactics needed in a specific country or geographical
region. At this time Dr. Shelton and Mr. Rueda are interested in receiving
feedback on their publication and also suggestions as to possible sources
that may be interested in funding this type of project.

Please pass this message to any person that may be interested.
