Evening primrose

This buckwheat talk reminded me of Salli Ramsden
who lived in Arcadia, Sydney (a dry hilly site)
she grew buckwheat for herself and the hens and it self
seeded profusely.
One excellent trick I learnt from Salli was to put the evening
primrose in the hens run so that seed that fell would not become
a weed.
but the best trick was to harvest the seed for yourself (especially
women) without too much preparation, she used to grind it
and sprinkle the seed and husks mixture directly onto
breakfast museli/porridge.
