Objectives

The first objective of the Conference is to discuss the
possible ways to harmonize national efforts in the
field of environmental indicators.

The second objective is to examine the existing
methods of indicators' transformation into highly-
aggregated indices, including systems analysis,
statistics, conceptual and computer models, etc. It
must be emphasized that this aspect of environmental
indicators/indices theory is less developed than any
other relevant issues and demands serious efforts to
bridge the gaps.
