My reason for writing is to inform you (and everyone else in the ISS)
about a conference on Aquatic Microbial Symbioses, organised by the
Aquatic Associations of the UK (The Scottish Association for Marine
Science, The Marine Biological Association for the UK and the
Freshwater Biological Association). This is an international conference to
be held in Oban, Scotland on the 1-3rd September 1999. Papers relating
to any aspect of aquatic microbial symbioses are welcomed though
papers relating to non-aquatic symbioses which shed sgnificant light on
symbiosis as a whole will be considered as will papers relating to
general aspects of symbiosis (eg history, relation to parasitism, evolution
etc). This is the first announcement. People wishing to register an
