Why A Permaculture Teachers Association??
- To promote skill Development and to improve the knowledge base of permaculture teachers and teaching apprentices:
- Provide ongoing training in the craft of teaching, using our own experiences and “outside experts.”
- Create continued training and support systems for Permaculture Design Course Graduates.
- Share teaching resources and create new teaching resources.
- Develop more widely shared and well-thought-out curricula and course and course formats and content.
- To build the morale, cohesiveness and accountability of the teaching
community:
- Get to know each other better.
- Encourage inclusivity.
- Provide a forum for peer review, constructive critique, problem solving, and mediation.
- To share marketing and marketing strategies:
- Identify and reach new mew markets.
- Provide recognition for Permaculture.
- Provide guidance and assistance to course organizers.
- TO HAVE FUN!!!
Who should join EPTA?
Any one who has graduated from a certified design course and has a desire to teach permaculture now or in the future and has enthusiasm and commitment to share with us.
How can you join the EPTA?
- Complete the attached register form with the following information:
- Your name, address, and phone number. Date, place, and teacher(s) of your design course. Enclose $15-35 annual dues (sliding scale).
What do you get in return?
- Teaching and apprenticeship opportunities.
- Course coordination.
- Shared member skills and needs inventory.
What we’ve accomplished:
- EPTA news column in Permaculture Activist
- Annual Permaculture Teacher Trainings
- Graduate Packet- a resource directory of permaculture relevant books, publications, organizations and regional contacts.
