Dear Gerard,

The Centre for Agriculture and Environment in the Netherlands has developed
so-called yardsticks with which farmers can measure the environmental
impact on their farm. We have developed such yardsticks for nutrients,
pesticides, energy and biodiversity.

Farmers can use a large number of methods to achieve environmental goals,
depending on their farming situation. Therefore these yardsticks do not
measure the rate of implementation of certain environmentally sound
measures, but we try to assess the environmental results of the measures
farmers are taken.

If you are interested in knowing more about these yardsticks, just pass me
your normal mail address and I can send you some documentation.

With kind regards,

Joost Reus
