SMALL FARMS ADVISOR - San Diego County. The University of California
Cooperative Extension is seeking a career track academic candidate to
conduct an educational and applied research program for limited scale
farmers in San Diego County. Advisor will identify and assess clientele
needs, conduct surveys and field trials addressing problems, and develop
appropriate outreach programs to bring about improved practices. Advisor
will also work with other advisors in a multi-disciplinary approach to
address issues affecting ag. production, marketing, and sustainable ag.
Requirements -Masters in either Plant Science, Ag Business Mgmt., or closely
related discipline. Training/experience in vegetable production, pomology,
postharvest physiology, or farm mgmt, is preferred. Fluency in both English
and Spanish is desirable but not required. Applications must be postmarked
