Openings on Northeast SARE Committees

Because of normal turnover of 3-year terms, the Northeast Region
Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education Program has openings on
its committees as indicated below. If you would like to nominate yourself
or someone else, please send me a short statement that indicates the
person's background, interests, and affiliation along with his/her phone
number and address. Persons nominated should live and work within the
Northeast Region (CT, DE, DC, MA, MD, ME, NH, NJ, NY, PA, RI, VT, WV). I
would appreciate receiving nominations no later than October 30.

The Administrative Council - The Administrative Council sets
overall policy for the region and makes the final funding decisions. It
usually meets 3 times a year - in January, March, and July. The next
meeting will be in mid-January.
Two openings
a) a person from a non-profit organization with emphasis
on agriculture
b) a person from a non-profit organization with emphasis
on conservation

The Technical Committee - The Technical Committee's primary role
is to review proposals and to make suggestions to the Administrative
Council. It normally meets for 3 days once a year (in March).
Openings -
a person from a non-profit organization with emphasis on
agriculture or conservation

There are also openings for openings for scientists or extension
specialists in
animal science
horticulture (especially vegetables and small
fruits)
animal science
rural sociology
agricultural economics
