Farm Bill Satellite Teleconference Nov.1

On November 1, 8 AM to 10AM, a two hour satellite telecast, "Risk is Not a
Four Letter Word", will be offered for viewing at your local Cooperative

will also show how to assess the financial ability of your farm to withstand
risk, give an overview of how to use futures, hedging, and crop insurance,
and show how to develop a risk management plan for your farm or ranch.

Ken Ackerman, Acting Administrator of the new USDA Risk Management Agency,
will give an analysis of where the other Washington's policy changes are
taking U.S. Agriculture and how those policy changes impact a
farmer/rancher's risk position. Mr. Ackerman brings a wealth of knowledge

U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture and previously was with the Commodity
Futures Trading Commission where he became an expert in the field of futures
trading.

Also appearing on the program will be Gayle Willett, WSU Agricultural
Economist, Paul Patterson, University of Idaho Agricultural Economist
