I use agricultural grade diatomaceous earth for slug control in a
Mediterranean climate. If your getting daily rains on the crop this may not
work well. Ground eggshells are also a good deterrent if you have an
industrial source near by. Copper strips or wire around individual trees, on
wood that surrounds raised beds or on the ground around small plantings has
been effective.
