This is not a totally appropriate inquiry for a sustainable
ag list, but Sanet is one of the most valuable resources I have
available to me and perhaps someone can point me in the right
direction ...
Talked to a farmer this morning who asked me about a recent change
in the tax code he'd heard about on ag radio. It mandates that
sales made in 1996 have taxes paid on them in 1996 though payment
is not received until 1997. He typically sells calves in November
and is paid in January and is concerned about an increase in his
1996 taxes.
Any further information on this change?
