About a year ago here in Burlington, Vermont a group came together to form
the Champlain Valley Foodshed Coalition to explore the issues and actions of
supporting a more local food system. We are moving (albeit very slowly)
ahead in developing a local Food Policy and are also committed to working on
action-oriented projects that will further our mission. There has been a
group of approximately 10 people from various perspectives participating in
this effort. I feel that at this point it would be helpful to hear from the
broader community about your experience with tackling this issue. We need
the cold hard truth.
Options for grant sources would also be appreciated -- as well as leads on
any confernce proceedings or other resources on the whole process.
