The Community Food Security Coalition (CFSC) will be hosting seven training
workshops around the country on the principles and methods of community food
security as well as on the Community Food Projects program. These full day
workshops will explore in depth such topics as creating collaborative
projects, making linkages between different sectors of the food system,
strategic and long-term planning, coalition building, community needs
assessments, and incorporating multiple objectives into your food or farming
project.

A substantial part of each workshop will be dedicated toward writing
successful grants for the USDA Community Food Projects Program.

Trainers will include leading figures in the CFS, anti-hunger, and
sustainable agriculture movements. Other participants include USDA
administrators of the Community Food Projects Program, awardees of 1996
Community Food Projects funding, and representatives from regional model CFS
projects.

Anyone interested in or working on community-based farming or food projects
is encouraged to attend.

The registration fee is $20 for CFSC members; $35 for CFSC non-members, which
includes all materials and lunch.
