Organic Production and EQIP
The Iowa State Technical Committee has recently approved Organic
Crop Production as a state conservation practice for the 1997 Iowa EQIP Program.
Support is limited to 40 acres maximum for those in transition to a
certified organic agriculture. $40/acre for 1st and 2nd years; $30/acre for
the third year; $20/acre for the 4th year; $10/acre for the 5th year.
Required component of certification is cost share up to 75% of
annual certification fee not to exceed $150/year for 5 year maximum.
A sheet listing all practices is available from my office or from
the Iowa NRCS or FSA office.
