Symphylans

Howdy Folks,
Those tiny, pesky critters symphylans seem to becoming quite a problem here
in Central California, especially on organic farms. Germination of stands of
corn, squash and other large seeded crops have been reduced. Transplanted
tomatoes especially are suffering on some farms to the tune of 25-50%.
So far we havn't found any solutions beyond certain rotations and cover
crops along with a "hope for the best" attitude next year.
Do any of you have any ideas? Is there research in progress anywhere?

Groping,
                      Thomas Wittman
