WORKSHOP ANNOUNCEMENT
BUYING LOCAL, SHOPPING ORGANIC AND EATING IN SEASON
Place: Rodale Institute Experimental Farm
Date and Time: Saturday, September 6 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Part of Rodale Institutešs annual workshop series.
Learn how to find locally and organically grown food and help support
farms in your region. What are the benefits of joining Community
Supported Agriculture programs, community gardens, buying from
roadside stands, and pick-your-own farms? Learn ways to strengthen
your community by supporting local producers. The benefits of eating in-
season will also be discussed, along with home food preservation. In
addition, participants will savor a buffet of seasonal foods prepared form
regional recipes. Take home recipes, a guide to becoming a regional and
seasonal eater, and resource lists.
Cost: $30 (includes lunch)
