Re: comments on UDSA/NOP cost and benefits to organic farmers and han

Hello,

Making it $50,000 rather then $5000 is firstly contrary to OFMA as it is
written. Secondly, there are so many direct marketers and even those selling
to stores that are simply either not informed about the Organic Foods
Production Act or existing certification agent organic standards or simply
are deceiving the customer, that it is out of the question for me to support.

The cost of certification is minimal. The purpose in OFPA is creat a
consistent and uniform standard of farming and handling so the customer can
without question the organic label.

Why undermine the strongest card for all. Unquestionable integrity that is
documentable.
