 Thank you for your letter regarding protecting the elderly
 tree near your house (on your property) into the future.  The
 area of 'land trusts' is very interesting, very complicated,
 and anything at all that Tree-House List can do to get folks
 thinking more about these options would be to everyone's
 benefit.  There is a possibility that the tree can be donated
 to a land trust, with rules placed on its handling after
 you no longer own it.  Please anyone who can give us more
 information on such possibilities, speak up or pass along
