Rammed earth is apparently not that much better either, particularly
considering the thickness of the walls. Rammed earth is about 10%
portland cement, and concrete is 13%.

We recently worked on an earth bermed single family house that used 200
cu. yd. of concrete, or 800,000 lbs! And they say that cheap oil is not
a drug.
